Using the powerful stackblur.js library combined with custom canvas manipulations, this tool processes all images directly in your web browser, ensuring complete privacy and fast performance.

How To Use Blur Image Tool

    • Invalid files (non-images or oversized) will be automatically filtered

Our Gaussian implementation uses an optimized algorithm that approximates true Gaussian blur with visual similarity but processes significantly faster - perfect when you need professional-quality smooth blurring without performance penalties. Both are adjustable via the 0-20 strength parameter.

Q: Can I control the direction of Motion Blur?
A: The current implementation applies horizontal motion blur (left-right directional effect) at an intensity determined by the strength slider. The effect is achieved by overlaying multiple offset copies of the image, creating a realistic motion trail. Future versions may include directional controls, but currently only horizontal motion is supported.

Q: How does Radial Blur differ from Heavy Radial?
A: Radial Blur creates a subtle zoom-like effect emanating from the image center, perfect for focus directing. Heavy Radial intensifies this effect with stronger blur progression and semi-transparent overlays, creating dramatic artistic results. Both use center-focused algorithms but with different intensity curves - we recommend strengths 5-10 for Radial and 8-15 for Heavy Radial.

Q: Is there any quality loss when saving as JPG?
A: When selecting JPG output, you can control the quality-compression balance precisely via the quality slider (1-100%). At 85-100%, visual differences from original are nearly indistinguishable. Lower values (30-70%) provide smaller files with modest quality reduction, while values below 30 may show noticeable artifacts. PNG format is available for lossless compression when quality is critical.

Q: Why does my preview look different from the downloaded file?
A: The preview uses optimized rendering at reduced resolution (max 1000px) for performance, while downloads process at original resolution. This ensures preview responsiveness while maintaining full quality in final output. Both use identical blur algorithms - any visual differences come from resolution scaling, not effect variations.

Q: How many images can I process simultaneously?
A: The tool currently supports batch processing of up to 50 images per session, with each file limited to 50 MB. These limits ensure stable browser performance across devices. For larger batches, we recommend splitting into multiple sessions or using desktop software for heavy workloads.
