What JSON Diff actually does to your file
The difference is calculated line by line, not as a JSON comparison, so a pure reformat - re-indented, keys reordered, an array wrapped over more lines - reads as a big change even when both files hold identical data. If you want a list of real content changes, minify both sides first so each record sits on its own line. Because the diff is textual, a moved block shows as a deletion plus an insertion rather than a move.
