How to use Image Upscaler

- Wait - anything above 512 px is processed in tiles, so a big source takes noticeably longer than a thumbnail.
What Image Upscaler actually does to your file
This is interpolation, not detail invention. Edges get smoother and larger, but noise and JPEG blocks enlarge with them, so a heavily compressed thumbnail will look softer rather than sharper. A 64x48 test graphic at the default 4x came back exactly 256x192, and a 1200x400 picture at 4x came back 4800x1600. If the requested factor would push the canvas past roughly 8000 px the tool drops to 2x on its own and tells you; several files arrive as edittools_upscaled_images.zip with the pictures inside an upscaled_images folder. The first run downloads the enhancement model into the browser from a public CDN - the picture itself is never uploaded, it is read from the file you dropped. A GIF, BMP, SVG or TIFF source is written out as PNG because the browser cannot encode those containers, so an animated GIF keeps only its first frame and the download is named .png to match. A file this browser cannot decode is marked in its row and named in the closing message rather than quietly left out. For a printable result, upscale 2x twice and let the second pass use a higher quality setting.
