Add Page Numbers To PDF Online FAQ

Can I skip the cover page?

Yes. Enable Skip the first page. Numbering then starts on the second page using the configured starting number.

Can I start at a different number?

Yes. Enter the number that should be used for the first numbered page. The tool applies the sequence to the remaining pages.

Does Page 1 of N update the document total?

It uses the number of pages in the selected PDF. It does not calculate a chapter total or update an existing contents page.

Will existing footer text be protected?

The tool cannot understand every design element in a PDF. Choose a position with enough free space and inspect every page after processing.

Is my original PDF overwritten?

No. The result is saved as a separate numbered PDF, so you can return to the original if a different position or format is needed.
