How to use Split PDF
- Select one or more .pdf files with Select PDF Files.
- Pick a Split Method: separate every page, split by a Start and End page, cut the document into files with a set number of pages, or divide even from odd pages.
- Enter the page numbers or the pages-per-file value, then press Split PDFs.
- Allow multiple downloads when the browser asks - each part is served as its own file, named like <name>_pages_1-3.pdf.
What Split PDF actually does to your file
Splitting rewrites page objects with the same engine the merger uses, so text stays live and selectable in every output file rather than becoming an image. There is no ZIP here, so a 20-page "each page separately" job fires 20 downloads and the browser will usually block them after the first - split into ranges, or collect the pages in two or three runs. A range that falls outside the document is reported and that file is skipped. Comments, form fields and links on a page are not carried into the part that contains it.
Split PDF FAQ
What does Split PDF do?
Our free online PDF splitter lets you quickly separate or extract pages from PDF files. Split large PDFs or combine multiple files without any hassle or registration. Fast and easy to use!
Which files work with Split PDF?
This category commonly supports PDF and exported JPG or PNG pages. Use the accepted file types shown in the uploader, because support varies by browser and by the engine behind each tool.
Do I get one file or several?
More than one part is delivered as a single ZIP archive so you keep the naming and the order. Extract it before using the files.
Will my original file be changed?
No. The work is done on a copy in this tab by pdf.js and pdf-lib, and the result arrives as a separate download, so your original is still there if you need it.
How is my file processed?
It is not uploaded. The processing is done locally by pdf.js and pdf-lib, so the practical ceiling is your device's memory and the limit shown beside the uploader - no queue, no account, no copy on a server.
Is the Split PDF free?
Yes. The Split PDF is free with no trial limit, subscription, or watermark on downloads. You can use it for personal and commercial projects without creating an account.
